A few days ago, I read about Usha Ray, an 80-year-old woman who completed her MBA after fighting cancer twice. Yes, 80 years old.

At 77, she enrolled in an online MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management. After decades as a teacher and even serving as a hospital CEO in Lucknow, she still wanted to learn more.

She said she wanted to keep her mind active. Imagine learning economics, statistics, and management at 77.

Learning to use a laptop. Attending online classes. Submitting digital assignments. Studying early mornings and late nights.

She scored above 80%. And she did this after surviving stage-four cancer. Then cancer returned during COVID.

She fought again and won again.

When I read this, I did not just see an MBA graduate.

I saw courage. I saw hunger to grow. I saw the power of lifelong learning.

As a career coach, many professionals tell me, “Sir, I am 35… is it too late?”

If 80 is not too late, then what is?

Age is not the problem. Mindset is. Education has no expiry date. Dreams have no retirement age.
